Keith grew up in the sixties & started playing guitar from the age of eight, listening to the Beatles, The Hollies, The Rolling Stones & the Yardbirds then later Ritchie Blackmore & Jimmy Page.
Though a true rock virtuoso, Keith has command of an eclectic range of guitar styles embracing rock/ funk/ soul/ jazz/ blues and country influences.
Keith made his professional debut as a guitarist in the mid seventies when, aged sixteen, he appeared at the Legendary Marquee Club in London supporting Ashton, Gardener & Dyke with his first band, Child. Child went on to have three top 30 singles and two hit albums. Moving into the 1980’s, Keith toured the world with a diverse array of rock and pop acts including Bonnie Tyler, Shakin’ Stevens, David Cassidy, Rick Astley, Jocelyn Browne, Barry Manilow and many others.
Keith has also composed music for film and television and worked on many TV themes, including The Fast Show, Rory Bremner, Jo Brand, Harry Hill, and has worked at Abbey Road studios on the soundtrack of the movie Cemetery Junction with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Keith continued writing and recording with Grammy-nominated rocker John Parr, who had number 1 hits in the UK and the US with St Elmo’s Fire.
Keith worked as part of the team at Northern Music Academy for several years until 2025, until the demands placed by his touring commitments meant that teaching regularly was no longer possible.
“Keith is a mega-musician, who complemented our team brilliantly for several years until his touring commitments demanded his full time attention. So glad to have worked with this legend for so long“
