Darrell Priestley with saxophone
Darrell Priestley
Piano & Saxophone

Background

For Darrell, lessons and regular practice began at nine, performance at ten, he was winning prizes by eleven and his professional performing career was under way by age twelve. Since then he has toured, conducted, played as Musical Director and taught many many others to play music, sharing the joy wide and far. His performing career has taken both him, and in turn many of his students, to the concert stage, with venues such as Queen Elizabeth Hall London, plus numerous appearances at Birmingham’s prestigious Symphony Hall, as both soloist and Musical Director.

While he has limited his professional appearances since 2002, preferring to devote himself to his role leading the team at the Northern Music Academy, Darrell remains active as a composer, particularly for solo piano.

For a number of years Evie attended lessons at school. Since attending Northern Music, however, Evie has really excelled and she really enjoys her lessons.
